R&I Programmes Executive

Organisation offering: Malta Council for Science and Technology

Details:

We are seeking to fill a full-time vacancy that has arisen as a result of increased interest in our Research & Innovation (R&I) Funding Programmes, as well as some exciting new initiatives that we shall be launching shortly.

The vacancy calls for candidates interested in supporting our entity in the promotion of R&I opportunities and funding programmes, networking with key players from the public, academic and private sectors, as well as launching calls for funding, coordinating and monitoring those projects that have been successful. Through this role we can truly support the strengthening of R&I in Malta whilst providing incentives to stimulate further engagement of local entities in research, to have a resulting positive effect on our economy.

We have recently made significant progress in providing for awareness-raising and training within the Space sector, in order to jump-start participation of local entities in Space research and commercial endeavours. With the furtherance of our relationship with the European Space Agency (ESA), we are now in a position to launch a Space Research fund to incentivise research and eventual commercial activity. This is an exciting new programme, which the successful candidate will support through Call design and launch as well as the monitoring of funded projects, through the support of our technical team and ESA.

A background in science or engineering is required as this helps in communicating with our clients and stakeholders. We also require strong communication and reporting skills in English, and the willingness to work within a dynamic team environment. While fluency in the Maltese language is not a must it is desirable. We do not expect you to have any Space-related competencies, but a keenness to help boost the sector would suffice!

The ideal candidate must be in possession of:

A Master’s Degree in natural Sciences or Engineering or a relevant comparable professional qualification from a recognised and accredited University together with a minimum of 1 year’s work experience in a related post with related skills.

OR

A Bachelor’s Degree in natural Sciences or Engineering or a relevant comparable professional qualification from a recognised and accredited University together with a minimum of 2 years' work experience in a related post with related skills.
