INPhINIT - A New Doctoral Fellowship Programme

INPhINIT is a new doctoral fellowship programme devoted to attracting international Early-Stage Researchers to the top Spanish research centres in the areas of Bio and Health Sciences, Physics, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. INPhINIT is promoted by the "la Caixa" Foundation with the aim of supporting the best scientific talent and fostering innovative and high-quality research in Spain by recruiting outstanding international students and offering them an attractive and competitive environment for conducting research of excellence.

INPhINIT recruits per call 57 Early-Stage Researchers of any nationality, who enjoy a 3-year employment contract at the Research Centre of their choice among those selected and awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness ("Severo Ochoa" centres of excellence and "Maria de Maeztu" units of excellence) and the Spanish Ministry of Health ("Carlos III centres of excellence"). In addition, researchers establish a personal career development plan including trasnational, intersectoral and interdisciplinary mobility opportunities, and attend a full range of complementary training courses and workshops.

INPhINIT relies on the European Commission's support through the Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions - COFUND programme to recruit a larger number of researchers and achieve a broader impact, as well as to further pursue the highest standards for research training.

Scholarships in Sri Lanka 2017

Details:

The Government of Sri Lanka is offering the ‘Government of Sri Lanka Presidential Scholarships for Foreign Students’ for the academic year 2017/8.
 
The scholarship is implemented by the Ministry of Higher Education and Highways. This course offers a chance to international students to enrol themselves in undergraduate programs conducted by state universities in Sri Lanka. The scholarship nominees will be exposed to an environment with academic excellence, culture of hospitality in Asian setting and enticing climatic conditions. The study program will lead to a Bachelor’s degree in various fields of study according to the University chosen.
 
Applicants are invited to follow the application procedures directly with the Sri Lanka Government. The scholarship details and the application form can be downloaded from the website.  The deadline to submit the application and all documentation is the 31 May, 2017.
 
The application form and all documentation must be submitted to the Scholarships Section, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Valletta by hand. Further information can be found on the Ministry’s website.
 
Successful candidates may be required to enter into a contract to serve the Government or the Private Sector of Malta upon completion.
 
Applications from Government and Parastatal employees and from the Private Sector will not be considered unless recommended by their Head of Department/Employer respectively.
 
Late applications will not be considered.
 
The Board's decision will be final.

Traineeships with the European Space Agency

The current cooperation agreement between Malta and ESA enables Maltese scientists and engineers to engage in traineeships at ESA's state of the art facilities. Such traineeships, which usually span over a year, cover various subject areas and are funded through support from the Ministry for Education and Employment.

Scholarships in Japan 2017/2019

The Government of Japan is offering 1 two-year scholarship to a Maltese graduate student who wishes to study at a Japanese University as a research student under the Japanese Government Scholarship Programme for the academic years 2017-2019 (April 2017 - March 2019), in various subjects within the field of Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Subjects must be one of those available at Japanese Universities. One copy of the explanatory note, the application form, the application attachment, the field of study and study program, the recommendation form and the certificate of health are needed.
