Such traineeships, which usually span over a year, cover various subject areas and are funded through support from the Ministry for Education and Employment.

Scholarships in Japan 2017/2019

The Government of Japan is offering 1 two-year scholarship to a Maltese graduate student who wishes to study at a Japanese University as a research student under the Japanese Government Scholarship Programme for the academic years 2017-2019 (April 2017 - March 2019), in various subjects within the field of Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Subjects must be one of those available at Japanese Universities. One copy of the explanatory note, the application form, the application attachment, the field of study and study program, the recommendation form and the certificate of health are needed. Applicants must be willing to learn the Japanese language, interested in Japan and enthusiastic about deepening his/her understanding of Japan after arriving and capable of engaging in study and research while adapting himself/herself to life in Japan. Applicants are also required to contact a professor of the Japanese university where they wish to study and obtain a letter of acceptance.
