The Energy and Water Agency, together with the Institute for Sustainable Energy (UM), is pleased to announce the fourth edition of the National Energy Conference, to be held on 6 November 2025.
This year’s conference, titled “TOWARDS NET-ZERO: Aligning Competitiveness with Climate Goals,” will examine the interplay between the three main pillars of the EU’s energy policy, Sustainability, Affordability, and Security of Supply, while ensuring the competitiveness of our industry and services sectors.
Discussions will focus on how this dynamic is evolving within today’s geopolitical landscape, marked by high energy prices and intensified global competition in the development and production of clean energy technologies. This competition is especially driven by countries with lower manufacturing costs, greater access to raw materials, and differing regulatory environments. The conference will also explore how these developments impact the local energy landscape and how Maltese stakeholders are adapting to changes in EU energy policy.
Once again, the conference is expected to bring together both local and international speakers from various energy sectors. The audience, including policymakers, professionals, business entities, students, and public officers, will have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session following each presentation.
