We are pleased to invite you to participate in a brief survey that will help shape the research priorities for the future Joint Transnational Calls (JTCs) for research funding in 2028, under the European Partnership for Brain Health (EP BrainHealth), which is expected to launch in January 2028.
đź’ˇAbout EP BrainHealth and the Partnership
The EP BrainHealth and its Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) are the result of enduring transnational collaboration to jointly embrace the chal-lenge of promoting and preserving brain health and reduce the great burden posed by brain disorders which include neurological, sensory, and mental aspects, and their consequences for patients, families, caregivers, healthcare systems, and society.
This collaboration builds on previous and current European transnational initiatives supported by the European Commission such as the Network of Euro-pean Funding for Neuroscience Research (ERA-NET NEURON), the EU Joint Pro-gramme for Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND), and the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) Flagship Human Brain Project (HBP). More recently, the Coordination and Support Action (CSA) "European Brain Research Area" (EBRA) was also supported by the EU as a first step to create synergies among these European initiatives.
Based on the SRIA BrainHealth, members of the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) have established a list of possible call topics for the EP BrainHealth. These topics were prioritised by the Funders Forum of the EP BrainHealth through a survey and a workshop.
Four topics were rated as highest priority: one was used for the calls of 2026, and two for the calls of 2027. The remaining call topic has been re-examined and slightly edited by the SAB in July 2026. In addition, five topics were to be considered for later years of the EP BrainHealth. The SAB chose (through a survey) two of them and slightly adapted them in July 2026.
The three resulting topics are now offered to the Funding partners and the ad hoc Funders of the EP BrainHealth.
