Image
A workshop on Strengthening Mediterranean Research Networks will take place on 11 May 2026, bringing together researchers, innovation stakeholders and policymakers from across the Mediterranean.
The event is part of the implementation of the 2024–2026 Action Plan of the 5+5 Dialogue on Research, Innovation and Higher Education, which identifies networking as a horizontal priority supporting all Dialogue actions. Networking is recognised as a key enabler for increasing participation in international funding programmes, strengthening institutional partnerships, and supporting mobility and knowledge exchange.
The workshop is organised by Morocco, through the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, in its role as co‑lead of Action A1.1 on Networking within the framework of the 5+5 Dialogue on Research, Innovation and Higher Education.
The workshop will provide a practical platform for exchange, learning, and collaboration among Mediterranean research and innovation stakeholders. The agenda will include a presentation by a representative of the COST Association on the COST Programme, a presentation by Moroccan National Contact Points on Horizon Europe, with a particular focus on Health and Energy, as well as a presentation by a representative of Malta (Xjenza Malta) on the Euro‑Med R&I Hub & Networks in the Mediterranean. Through these exchanges, the workshop aims to strengthen existing networks, foster new connections, and contribute to the broader objectives of the 5+5 Dialogue on Research, Innovation and Higher Education.
Scheduled for: Monday, 11 May 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00 CET (UTC+1)
Target Audience: researchers, innovation stakeholders and policymakers from both the Southern and Northern shores of the Mediterranean.
